Embers

Photo from Sæteren Farm in Bærum municipality in Norway the 6th of October 2026.

Embers

We grow into ourselves

Alongside others

Grate our rough sides

Smoother

We find our own path

Away from the crowd

Hone our good sides

Truer

In the flames

We melt

In the ashes

We build

And rebuild

A dog named Lucky Star

Photo by Helene Møller from Vendelsund in Asker municipality in Norway the 4th of May 2025.

A dog named Lucky Star

We sailed around the island

One Midsummer Night

Celebrating, we believe

St. John’s Eve

We let anchor on the inlet

Familiar to us

Welcomed in a merry mode

By Gawain’s Secret Code

On that Midsummer night

A companionship began

Offered under constellations far

A dog named Lucky Star

Orion

Stung

A consequence

Of the Earth

Signifying

Karma

Made

A fixed point

In the night sky

Signifying

Loss

Still

A compass

In the night sky

Ready Player

Ready Player

When looking upon the stars above

I wonder

What if

When everything started

It was us

Deciding to enter

To play

I am the wanderer

Photo by Helene Møller from Brønnøya in Asker municipality in Norway the summer of 2026.

I am the wanderer

I am the wanderer

who follows echoes.

And see the Elderberry tree

with its abundant flowering.

And see the red robin

who is a welcome guest in the garden.

Also I see the sun and the sea and the earth

and the rainbow between them.

Yes, I see all these magnificent things.

While I am here, my dearest

Photo by Helene Møller from Brønnøya in Asker municipality in Norway the 9th of August 2025.

While I am here, my dearest

While I am here, my dearest,

Play no sad songs for me.

Plant kisses on my cheeks,

And harvest the apple and cherry trees;

Walk in the green grass with me

and taste the wild strawberries and plums;

And if you will, enjoy

And if you won’t, don’t.

I will see the shadows,

I will feel the rain,

I will hear the night owl,

Over and over again.

And dreaming through the sunrise,

That is not really a surprise.

Happily I will remember,

And maybe I will not.

To Hold

Photo by Helene Møller from the Sandvika in Bærum muncipality in Norway the 1st of October 2026.

To Hold

To hold

the light

is what I want

to receive the rain,

a part of this land

to be a stream into a river growing

and to carry the fallen leaves

and the grey silt,

down to where the river meets the sea

into finite comfort

and the land here, full of trust

still keep and witness

the fellow need

the way the river is always new

taking part in the healing

after the journey

which is our life.

Vespers

Photo by Helene Møller from the Øverland river in Bærum muncipality in Norway in September 2026.

Vespers

The river is home to fish.

The water flows towards the sea.

The birds sing for those willing to listen.

The tear can come from beauty revealed.

The idea you carry can become a poem.

The boot can let you walk further.

The photograph depends on someone taking it.

I want to see how the sun meets the water.

I want to hear how water flows around rocks with moss.

I want to pick up a pebble on the riverbed. Not because it is spectacular, but because it ties me too, to the river.

Twilight

Photo by Helene Møller from Vendelsund in Asker municipality in Norway the 29th of September 2026.

Twilight

Twilight means the Earth turns

Away from the sun

Letting heavenly bodies

Shine for us

Twilight means night on Earth

Merging sea and sky

Letting creatures big and small

Know rest is near

Twilight means a certain phase

Away from youth

Letting spirits old with age

Prepare to fly

When You Are Young

Photo by Helene Møller from Øverlandselva in Bærum muncipality in Norway in September 2026.

When You Are Young

When you are young and green and full of wonder,

And gazing at the road ahead, bring the Book,

And remember the fierce look,

You have, when your eyes seek yonder;

How many will love your moments of true grace,

And love your beauty with love false or true,

But one soul will love the pilgrim in you,

And love the joy in your smiling face;

And reaching for horizons blue,

Murmur, a little prayer, how Love is,

And blow the mountains a kiss,

And trust that the river will follow you through.
