I Carry You With Me

I Carry You With Me

I carry you with me.

I carry you in my heart.

You are always present.

The Moon circles the Earth and the Earth circles the Sun.

Here is the secret everybody knows:

I carry you with me.

I carry you in my heart.

You are loved beyond measure.

Release

Release

Nature turns

Green, yellow, red and brown

A release

To mulch

The river meanders

Life rhymes

Pink, green, grey and white

A release

To rest

The river meanders

Bless my heart

Photo by Helene Møller from Tjøme municipality in Norway the 20th of July 2021.

Bless my heart

Bless my heart, God, for you

Shimmer

That I may see

Your love to make me new.

I wander

Open to you

Reason, a compass in me

along with my faith, both true

I love you

I don’t have all the answers

Sometimes I falter

Forgive me

Keep me in Your grace

Amen

Purple Song

Photo by Helene Møller from Brønnøya in Asker muncipality in Norway the 22nd of May 2022.

Purple Song

I am awake

I am awake to relations and action.

If you should meet me upon the

street do ask me for

I can tell you my hopes

for the journey I am on

and that is enough.

It matters whether tomorrow

arrives. If there is

only this day and after it is

night it will matter now.

I am awake. I am awake to relations

and action. In the heart of me

you will find it bursting with

joy. Take it and spread it out

far. Let the wind have

it and it will find its way home.

Homecoming

Photo by Helene Møller from Vendelsund in Asker muncipality in Norway the 29th of September 2026.

Homecoming

Odysseus

Reluctant but loyal

Dragged to Troy

Making war

Returning by

Overcoming obstacles

Outwitting foes

Not knowing

If she were waiting

Twenty years later

Sea gazing

Searching

Making and unmaking her weave

Like the tide

Looking

For his ship to sail in

To love him again

Something Good

Photo by Helene Møller from Sandvika in Bærum municipality in Norway the 11th of May 2025.

Something Good

In the midst of joy, I found I have smiles.

In the midst of laughter, I found myself bubbly.

In the midst of order, I found I have a plan.

I realized, through it all, that…

In the midst of summer, I found there was,

within me, an eternal spring.

And that makes me happy. For it says that

when the world seems lovely to me,

within me there is something good, grace,

wanting to pay it forward.

Sonnet 116-ish

Photo by Helene Møller from Vendelsund in Asker municipality in Norway the 13th of July 2024.

Sonnet 116-ish

Maybe I shouldn’t disturb those who agree totally

Or maybe I should? Love is not love

If it changes when distracted,

Or goes with a player to play:

Oh, no! It is constant like the Northern Star

That looks on storms and is not afraid;

It is like a GPS to every car

Whose value is unknown, although its make is noted.

Love is not thrown away, when temptation

Comes along;

Love doesn’t change under pressure,

But stays loyal until the end of time.

If this is wrong,

I never wrote, and no one ever loved.

Devotion

Photo 1 by Helene Møller from Bærumsmarka in Bærum municipality in Norway from the 18th of October 2026.

Devotion

A stream flows in the woods

Towards the river

Lined with stones

A source

A tree grows in the woods

Towards the sky

Lined with years

A crossing

An arrow points through the woods

Towards the Saint Olaf’s Way

Lined with markers

A direction

A stone placed in the stream

A heart carved in the tree

A walk on the path

An offering

Let this feeling be a lighthouse

Photo by Helene Møller from La Farola at Muelle Uno in Malaga in Spain the 24th of February 2024.

Let this feeling be a lighthouse

Let this feeling be a lighthouse

and you the ray of light. As you shine,

the meaning becomes your strength.

Move back and forth into the night.

What is it like, such a sense of joy?

If the cup is empty, turn yourself to water.

In this starlit night,

be the Northern Star in the night sky,

the direction discovered there.

And if the world has started to see you,

say to the abundant earth: I am.

To the rushing river, speak: I flow.

America is an Idea

Artwork created collaboratively with Google Gemini («Spirit in the Sky») (2026)

America is an idea

For Paul Auster

England is a scone with clotted cream

France, a fresh baguette

Greece, so blue it hurts to see

America is an idea

Brazil is samba in the streets

Argentina, the Pampas ever wide

Germany has potential

America is an idea

Denmark is a long beach

Sweden, a thousand islands small

Australia, a didgeridoo

America is an idea

Japan is a cherry bloom

Scotland is the heather’s home

Oh, but how wonderful to be exactly this

America is an idea
