When You Are Young
When you are young and green and full of wonder,
And gazing at the road ahead, bring the Book,
And remember the fierce look,
You have, when your eyes seek yonder;
How many will love your moments of true grace,
And love your beauty with love false or true,
But one soul will love the pilgrim in you,
And love the joy in your smiling face;
And reaching for horizons blue,
Murmur, a little prayer, how Love is,
And blow the mountains a kiss,
And trust that the river will follow you through.
